Liver Surgery
The liver is one of the most vital organs in the human body, responsible for detoxification, metabolism, and many essential functions. When liver disease or injury becomes severe and cannot be managed through medication or other treatments, liver surgery becomes necessary.
Types of Liver Surgery-
Liver Resection (Hepatectomy): This procedure involves surgically removing the diseased or damaged portion of the liver. Since the liver has the unique ability to regenerate, the remaining healthy portion can regrow and continue to function effectively.
Liver Transplant: In cases of complete liver failure, a liver transplant may be required. This involves replacing the damaged liver with a healthy liver from a living or deceased donor.
